So a few weeks ago I went down to Lake Powell with Rachel, her roommate Lea Ann and my boss. They have a couple of boats down there and we went for the weekend for some wakeboarding and to get away from Breckenridge for a bit.
So we all tried out wake surfing, which is really fun. I also learned to wake board.

Rollins Pass, 8/22/09
So on Saturday I drove up to Winter Park to check out Skyscraper Glacier at Rollins Pass. I was hoping to get some snowboarding in, but we got there late after getting lost and driving about 30 miles out of the way. The road from Winter Park is an old railroad grade, so it is a gentle, winding grade, but the road surface itself is dirt the whole way and its pretty bumpy. Anyway, it was a good scouting trip and I hope to go back this weekend and maybe in September or next spring/summer.
Some pictures...
this is the "Glacier" itself ( I don't know why this is a hyperlink)Gives an idea of what the approach is like. You can either take the ridge or hike up from the bottom. At this point it looks like the approach from below is best as there appears to be a steep drop from rock to the remaining cornice. The Basin itself is really pretty.Obligatory self portrait. Not such a great picture.I think this is King Lake.

St. Mary's Glacier, 7/31/09
On July 31 I went up to St. Mary's Glacier and went snowboarding. It started raining as soon as I got to the Glacier/Permanent Snowfield. It got progressively worse as I climbed, but I didn't hear any thunder until I reached the top and strapped into my bindings. I finished soaked, but it was fun, and totally worth it for some snowboarding in July.

May pictures!
Its taken me a while to get this update ready, but here it is.
This picture is from a place called Mayflower Gulch. Its a pretty area to hike, and also a good spot for backcountry skiing and snowboarding.
This was taken back in mid May in the Monte Christo valley, I think.
Not the most flattering picture of me, but whatever, I guess thats what you get when you put the camera on a log for a self portrait.
Family picture from Crested Butte. Sophie provides the photo bomb by giving us a nice butt shot. Thanks girl.

More Friend's Hut pics
Second set of Friend's hut pics. For some reason this thing loads each new set of pictures on top of the last, so this goes from end to start, instead of like it should from start to finish.
I really had to mess with the Levels in this one to get the tracks to show up, and even now it is hard to make them out. It was nice.
